Responsibilities

As an Optician, you will:

✔️ Assist veterans with frame selection and eyewear recommendations

✔️ Perform measurements including pupillary distance, segment heights, and base curves

✔️ Verify eyeglass prescription specifications provided by VA providers

✔️ Fit, adjust, and dispense prescription eyewear

✔️ Perform minor eyewear repairs and adjustments

✔️ Educate veterans regarding eyewear options and orders

✔️ Collaborate with VA Optometry and Ophthalmology teams

✔️ Deliver outstanding customer service and patient care

✔️ Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with VA standards


Qualifications

✅ Current American Board of Opticians (ABO) Certification REQUIRED

✅ Full and unrestricted licenses/certifications (if applicable)

✅ Strong customer service and communication skills

✅ Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently

✅ Experience in optical dispensing, fitting, measuring, and repairs preferred

✅ Ability to work professionally with veterans, providers, and clinical staff
