Position Highlights

  • 4 Immediate Openings

  • Competitive Pay: $25.00/hour

  • Full-time Federal Contract Assignment

  • One-year contract with potential for extension

  • Work in a respected Veterans Affairs healthcare facility

  • No on-call or standby requirements


Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Technician (Phlebotomist), you will:

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for inpatient and outpatient populations

  • Collect specimens in Emergency Department (ED), STAT, ASAP, and timed draw settings

  • Conduct inpatient ward rounds

  • Process laboratory specimens and prepare send-out samples

  • Positively identify patients prior to specimen collection to ensure patient safety

  • Follow all laboratory quality control and safety procedures

  • Document testing activities accurately and report results appropriately

  • Identify and resolve specimen collection and processing issues

  • Protect patient confidentiality and maintain HIPAA compliance

  • Deliver professional, patient-centered care while maintaining excellent customer service


Qualifications

Required

✔ Minimum 3 years of recent phlebotomy experience

✔ Proof of certifications, licenses, diplomas, and applicable training

✔ Minimum 2 professional references with current phone numbers and email addresses

✔ Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently

✔ Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety


Work Schedule

Available shifts include:

Day Shift

  • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Evening Shift

  • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Additional scheduling includes:

  • Rotating weekends (approximately 1–2 weekends per month)

  • Weekend Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • Weekend Evening Shift: 1:30 PM – 9:00 PM

  • Holidays and overtime may be required based on laboratory needs

  • No on-call or standby duties
